Siliguri, 16th July: The 37th Rath Yatra festival was celebrated at ISKCON Temple in Siliguri with great enthusiasm, along with several other locations across the region.
West Bengal Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose attended the celebration held at the temple. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Sikha Chatterjee, Darjeeling District Magistrate Harishanker Panicker, BJP Siliguri organisational district president Arun Mondal and BJP district vice-president Dipankar Arora, among others.
The guests inaugurated the Rath Yatra by pulling the chariot rope. The chariot started from the temple premises and travelled through various routes of the city.
The Rath Yatra created a festive atmosphere across Siliguri, with a large number of devotees gathering at the temple premises since morning to participate in the celebration.
