Siliguri, 24th June: A 60-year old man has been arrested for allegedly raping and impregnating a 16-year-old girl. The horrifying incident surfaced from the Kalangini area of Fulbari No. 2 Gram Panchayat under NJP police station. The arrested accused has been identified as Nazrul Haque.
According to the mother of the victim, the girl lives alone and works as a domestic helper. Taking the advantage of her being home alone, her neighbor Nazrul Haque raped her by luring for various items.
When she fell ill last Wednesday, the girl shared the whole incident to her mother. Her pregnancy test also came back positive. A written complaint was lodged at the NJP police station on behalf of the minor’s family. Acting promptly, the police arrested Nazrul Haque and produced him at Jalpaiguri court on Thursday.
