Naxalbari, 22nd March: The fifth district conference of Darjeeling district Kisan Khet Mazdoor Trinamool Congress was held in Naxalbari. Kisan Khetmazdoor Trinamool state president Purnendu Basu, district Trinamool president Papiya Ghosh, district chairman Alok Chakraborty, Kisan district president Amar Sinha, chairman Chotan Kisku and others were present at the district conference at Naxalbari Community Hall on Tuesday.
During the conference, leaders and activists of various branch organizations of the district discussed the development and statistics of the agricultural system.
“During the tenure of our government, 50,000 acres of land has been converted from cultivable land to other lands. At present, 55 lakh hectares of land are being cultivated. Also, the state is working hard to stop the black marketing of fertilizers. I am optimistic that we will win the Siliguri subdivision council election,” Purnendu Basu said.
