54 feet high “Tricolour” hoisted on the Indo-Nepal border in Kharibari

Kharibari, 09th August: A 54 feet ‘High Mast National Flag’ was hoisted under the initiative of the 41st Battalion of the SSB on the Indo-Nepal international border in Kharibari. The flag was hoisted on Wednesday, through a grand ceremony, in memory of the martyrs of the Quit India Movement. Additionally, the families of the martyrs were also honored.


During the occasion, Inspector General (IG) Headquarters Ganesh Kumar, Siliguri IG Sudhir Kumar, Ranidanga Sector Deputy Inspector General (DIG) EM ES Panda, DIG DB Sunar, Ranidanga Commandant Shailesh Kumar, Social Workers Asit Singh, Krishna Raj, Sujeet Das and others were present. Speaking on the occasion, IG Headquarters Ganesh Kumar stated the day to be “Gaurav Ka Din” (Day of pride). He added that the hoisted national flag would inspire the people of the border areas.
