Alipurduar, 21st September: 50-year old Rama Mohanta died after drowning in canal water, on Tuesday afternoon. The incident surfaced from the Kumargram block under Alipurduar district. The deceased was a resident of the Tetultala area of Kumargram block.
It has been learned that Rama Mohanta was highly intoxicated at the time of the incident and accidentally stepped into the canal. Kamakhyaguri outpost police recovered the body and sent it to Alipurduar District Hospital for autopsy.
