30-bedded safe home inaugurated in Matigara for children and mothers

Siliguri, 21st June: A 30-bedded safe home has been built for children and mothers at Jesu Ashram in Matigara. The newly set up safe home was inaugurated on Monday.


Darjeeling DM S. Ponnambalam, SMC administrator Goutam Deb, Darjeeling District CMOH as well as Dean of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital Sandeep Sengupta and other officials were present at the inaugural event.

The safe home was built in anticipation of the third wave of the pandemic. Arrangements have been made for the stay of children and mothers. Besides, oxygen and concentrators will also be provided.


The safe home was opened under the initiative of the district administration and Child In Need Institute (CINI) and also with the assistance of various organizations including Jesu Ashram.
