Gangtok, 28th June: In a heart-wrenching incident, three members of the same family, including a seven-month-old baby, died in the neighboring state of Sikkim following heavy rains. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Doma Sherpa, her 10-year-old son, and a 07-month-old infant.
According to the information, the incident took place late Monday night at around 1.15 am. Bimal Magar, the husband, managed to survive the tragic event. Local ward panchayat member Bhaichung Bhutia stated that the bodies of the three were recovered with the help of SDRF, firefighters, and police. And have been taken to STNM Hospital in Gangtok for postmortem.
On behalf of Chief Minister P.S. Golay, his Political Adviser Jacob Khaling visited the hospital and expressed his condolences to the mourning husband Bimal Magar. He assured that all possible assistance would be provided by the state government.
