Siliguri, 06th June: In a tragic incident, a man was shot dead in Siliguri. The accused has been arrested by the police. The incident surfaced from the Quarter Line area of Debidanga in Siliguri, due to which, a tense atmosphere prevailed in the area. The deceased has been identified as Amrit Gosai (24), while the accused is Arun Mahali (19).
Reportedly, both Amrit and Arun were in a love affair with the same woman residing in the said area which led to a conflict between the two. Eventually, the rift escalated resulting in the incident.
According to sources, on Monday late at night, the accused called Amrit to his house during which the incident occurred. Following the incident, the furious family members set Arun’s house on fire.
Meanwhile, upon receiving the news, the police of Pradhan Nagar Police Station reached the spot and brought the fire under control with the help of the Fire Department. In addition, a large contingent of police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel, were also deployed to control the situation. Currently, Police are engaged in further investigation.
