Siliguri, 03rd November: A youth was electrocuted while he was installing lights for Diwali. The tragic incident surfaced from the Suryasen Colony Pipeline area of Siliguri. The deceased has been identified as Haradhan Mandal (23) of NJP Gate Bazar. His father passed away a few years ago. They have a small tea shop which is looked after by his mother.
Reportedly, Haradhan and his younger brother Nilratan went to install lights at a residence in the said area. Haradhan was severely injured after being electrocuted by a high tension wire. While being taken to the Siliguri District Hospital, the ambulance carrying Haradhan got stuck in a traffic jam. By the time the traffic cleared, he succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased’s family members said that he might have survived if he had reached the hospital at the right time. The incident has cast a shadow of mourning over the area.
