23 cattle rescued before trafficking, three arrested

Phansidewa, 11th August: In a foiled attempt of animal trafficking, Ghoshpukur Outpost police successfully rescued 23 cows and apprehended three individuals who were caught red-handed smuggling the animals in pick-up vans. The arrested suspects have been identified as Suraj Ali, Bakkar Ali, and Moizuddin Ali, all hailing from Assam.


As per reports, the Ghoshpukur Outpost police, operating under the jurisdiction of Phansidewa police station, managed to rescue the 23 cows on the Ghoshpukur National Highway in Phansidewa. The smugglers were attempting to transport the cattle to Assam using a pick-up van. Police sources confirm that the apprehended individuals were unable to provide valid documentation for their actions. Today, all three suspects were presented before the Siliguri Divisional Court for legal proceedings.
