Siliguri, 23rd May: Police arrested two persons with banned cough syrup during a raid conducted on the basis of a tip-off in the Chhota Fapri area of Siliguri.
The arrested accused have been identified as Bisha Deb and Sukmiti Limbu, both residents of the Chhota Fapri area.
According to police sources, Ashighar Outpost police received information that banned cough syrup was going to be exchanged in the area. Acting swiftly, police launched a raid and detained one youth and one young woman.
During the search, banned cough syrup was recovered from two bags carried by them. Both were subsequently arrested, and police have started an investigation into the entire incident.
