125 couples tied the knot in a mass wedding held in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 21st January: Mass wedding was held today at the Kalchini Police Station premises under the initiative of the Alipurduar District Police.


Reportedly, 125 couples from different tea gardens of Alipurduar district tied the knot.

Alipurduar District Superintendent of Police Nagendranath Tripathi, District Magistrate Surendra Kumar Mina, Additional Superintendent of Police Kuntal Banerjee, District Council mentor Mohan Sharma, Kalchini BDO Bhushan Sherpa and many more dignitaries were present during the event.


Police Superintendent Nagendranath Tripathi stated that such an initiative has been taken to strengthen public relations with the people.
