Siliguri, 28th December: In a tragic incident, a youth lost his life after being hit by a speeding bike on Asian Highway-2 near Singhijhora Tea Estate in Bagdogra. The deceased has been identified as Dipankar Das, a resident of Nabagram in Siliguri. In addition, a woman pillion on Dipankar’s scooty was severely injured. The bike rider is stated to be Sumit Singha.
Reportedly, on Wednesday night, a bike was on its way from Bihar More, during which, it rammed into the scooty. Consequently, Dipankar and a woman companion were severely injured. Following the incident, the injured were rushed to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), where the doctors declared Dapankar Das dead.
