Siliguri, 14th January: A youth, while trying to cross the road on his bicycle, suffered injuries after being hit by the pilot car of Minister Goutam Deb’s convoy.
The youth has been identified as Hiranmoy Sutradhar, a resident of Chayanpara in Ward No. 37 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation. Hiranmoy was immediately rushed to Siliguri District Hospital in a police vehicle. Goutam Deb also sent one of his security guards along with him.
The minister said that the youth was crossing the road without looking both ways of the road. Arrangements have been made for his treatment. He further said that he would visit Hiranmoy’s house in the evening.
