Siliguri, 17th March: Police of Siliguri Junction Traffic Guard arrested a youth with a huge amount of illegal liquor from Bihar bus stand on Tuesday night. The accused, identified as Amit Kumar is a resident of Begusarai, Bihar.
According to the information, the accused was going to board a bus to Bihar with the liquor. Uday Shankar Guha, posted in Junction Traffic Guard, grew suspicious of the youth and detained him for questioning. Upon searching Kumar’s bag, 43 bottles of liquor were recovered. He was arrested and handed over to Pradhan Nagar Police for further action.
Meanwhile, the accused was accompanied by a woman who managed to escape ahead of the interrogation. Kumar was produced in Siliguri court today.
