Kharibari, 26th September: In a significant breakthrough, the police of Panitanki Outpost of Kharibari police station apprehended a youth with brown sugar. The accused has been identified as Chandan Barman, a resident of Habaldar Basti of Panitanki.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off, the police of Panitanki Outpost launched an operation and apprehended a four-wheeler in the Panitanki railway gate area. During the search, 132 grams of brown sugar were recovered from his possession. Following this, the youth was arrested.
As per police sources, the market value of the drugs is estimated worth lakhs of rupees. On Tuesday, the accused was presented before the Siliguri Divisional Court. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
