Youth arrested with 283 grams of brown sugar worth lakhs of rupees in Siliguri

Siliguri, 04th December: The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Siliguri Metropolitan Police and the police of Bhakti Nagar police station has once again achieved a big success under the campaign ‘Say No to Drugs. 


 

The SOG and police of Bhakti Nagar police station have arrested a youth with 283 grams of brown sugar from the Chandal More area. The accused has been identified as Suman Majhi, a resident of Palasi of Nadia district. 


 

Reportedly, the police of SOG and Bhakti Nagar police station had received a tip-off about the said drug peddler who reached Siliguri from Kolkata to smuggle brown sugar. Acting promptly on the information, the team conducted a campaign in the aid area and arrested the said youth. While conducting a search, 283 grams of brown sugar were recovered from it whose market value has been estimated at lakhs of rupees. 

 

After this, the youth was arrested by registering a case under the NDPS Act in the presence of the Deputy Magistrate. The accused youth will be produced in Siliguri court tomorrow.
