Siliguri, 16th August: Matigara police have arrested two persons in connection with the theft of 58 jammers from examination centres and recovered all the stolen devices.
The arrested accused have been identified as Biswajit Roy and Nikhil Sah, both residents of the Matigara area.
According to police, a non-governmental organisation lodged a complaint at Matigara police station on August 14, reporting the theft of 58 jammers from examination centres. Following the complaint, police launched an investigation into the incident.
A plainclothes police team was deployed to monitor the area and gather information about suspicious activities. During the investigation, police obtained leads regarding the suspected involvement of Biswajit Roy and Nikhil Sah.
Acting on the information, police arrested both accused and recovered all 58 stolen jammers from their possession.
The accused were produced before the Siliguri Court on Sunday, where police secured their remand. Investigators are questioning them to determine the motive behind the theft and to ascertain whether other individuals were involved.
