Youth arrested for animal cruelty in Siliguri

Siliguri, 12th November: NJP police arrested a youth on the charge of animal cruelty. The accused is Vikram Ram, a resident of North Colony of NJP. 


Various animal lover organizations of the city have demanded strictest punishment for the accused. Reportedly, on Friday night in Harijan Busty of NJP North Colony, a young man in an inebriated state stabbed a stray dog, killing it on the spot. On seeing the matter, a person named Bishwadeep Bhattacharya reached the NJP police station and lodged a complaint against the accused youth in the police station. 

Based on the complaint, the police arrested a youth identified as Vikram Ram. The accused was produced in the Jalpaiguri court today. The police are investigating the entire incident.
