Workers should be respected and honored not just for a single day, but for all 365 days of the year: Anit Thapa

Kurseong, 01st May: Central President of Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) and Chief of GTA, Anit Thapa, urged for the issue of puja bonus for tea plantation workers to be addressed not only during festivals but throughout the year. He made this statement while addressing the Labor Day program organized by Hill Terai Dooars Plantation Workers Union Kurseong Mahkuma Samiti, a brother organization of BGPM, at the public building at Gauri Shankar Tea Garden in Kurseong today.


During his address, Thapa emphasized that workers deserve to receive their attendance, bonus, graduation, and PF on time after retirement. He urged trade unions to initiate the puja bonus for workers now and not just during festivals. Thapa also stressed the importance of unions paying attention to the demands of workers.

The GTA Chief highlighted that solving the problems of workers requires more than speeches on the microphone. He acknowledged the relentless struggle of the union’s representatives and their significant role in keeping the party alive. Thapa stated that they should be respected and honored not just for a single day but for all 365 days of the year.
