Phansidewa, 14th January: Sensation prevailed after a woman was found hanging from the noose following an alleged family dispute. The saddening incident surfaced from the Bhimbar area under Bidhannagar police station of Phansidewa. The deceased has been identified as Ravita Singh.
According to the information, a year and a half ago, Ravita was married to Ranjan Barman. Allegedly, ever since the marriage, the duo frequently used to argue and squabble. During this, Ravita used to often threaten to kill herself. Apparently, a similar altercation broke out between the two on Friday night. As the matter escalated, Ravita locked herself in a room and committed suicide by hanging herself.
However, no complaint has been registered at the police station so far in regard to the incident. Meanwhile, after the news of the incident surfaced, BDO Sanju Guha Majumdar of Phansidewa reached Bidhannagar Hospital too take stock of the situation.
