Siliguri, 06th July: In a recent development, police have apprehended a woman, identified as Juni Subba (29), for operating an illegal liquor business in the Dimdima-Bedgara area of Salugara in Siliguri.
According to police sources, complaints had been lodged regarding illicit sales of Indian and foreign liquor disguised within various fast food and grocery outlets in the locality.
Acting on the information, undercover officers from Bhakti Nagar police station conducted raids on Friday night. During the operation, a significant amount of foreign liquor was seized from one of the shops, leading to the arrest of the woman.
The accused was presented in Jalpaiguri court on Saturday, while police investigations into the matter are underway.
