Siliguri, 18th July: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across North Bengal, including Siliguri, over the next few days.

According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rain, with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places, is likely in Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts on July 18 and 19. Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Cooch Behar districts are also expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall during this period.

The weather department has warned of possible landslides in the hill districts and waterlogging in low-lying areas due to the intense rainfall.

The IMD stated that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue across all sub-Himalayan districts on July 20, after which the intensity of rain is expected to gradually decrease.

Continuous rainfall has already affected normal life in several parts of North Bengal, including Siliguri.
