Woman and her new born die in Islampur Super Speciality Hospital, family alleges medical negligence

Islampur, 11th May: A clash erupted at Islampur Super Speciality Hospital late Sunday night after a woman and her newborn baby died due to alleged medical negligence. The deceased woman has been identified as Rangila, a resident of the Mahabbatpur area under Islampur Police station.

Ekram Uddin, the father-in-law of the deceased woman, stated that Rangila was admitted to the Islampur Super Specialty Hospital on Sunday night. He accused the doctors of neglecting her critical condition and of not taking necessary steps to treat her.

Ekram further added, the hospital informed the family members that Rangila had given birth to a stillborn and she too was in a critical condition. When they rushed to the hospital, the hospital notified that Rangila has already passed away.

Agitated by the news, the family members staged a demonstration in the hospital premises accusing the doctors of medical negligence. They further alleged that Rangila died due to excessive internal bleeding as proper steps were not taken at the right time by the hospital.
