Siliguri, 12th August: Siliguri Police foiled an alleged major crime plot in the Pipeline area of Dakshin Deshbandhupara and arrested three youths during a late-night operation.
According to police, a group of around nine to ten youths had allegedly gathered in the area and were planning to target a house. The arrested accused have been identified as MD Imtiaz, MD Sadek and Gopal Mandal.
Police launched an operation after receiving information about the suspicious gathering. During the operation, three suspects were arrested from the spot, while some others managed to flee.
Police also recovered weapons from the possession of the arrested accused. Following the recovery, police suspect that the group was preparing to target a house in the area.
A case has been registered against the three accused, who were produced before the Siliguri court on Wednesday. The investigation is underway.
