Who do you want? Someone who will work for you or a writer who only writes letters? : Shankar Ghosh

Siliguri, 22nd March: The political atmosphere has charged up in the poll-bound state with the assembly election approaching nearer. While the parties’ candidates for the Siliguri assembly constituency are fiercely electioneering, all eyes are on the battle between Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) candidate Shankar Ghosh and his former mentor and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) candidate Ashok Bhattacharya. This surely is going to be a nail-biting contest, however, the people have to wait until May 02 for the results to disclose.

Fueling the already raging fire between the duo, former CPI(M) leader and BJP candidate Shankar Ghosh took a massive jibe at Ashok Bhattacharya while campaigning in Siliguri’s Regulated Market, on Monday. He called for the people of Siliguri to decided if they want a leader who will work for the betterment of the city and its people or the one who will only write letters seeking help.

Shankar Ghosh further stated that he has listened to people’s grievances during a visit to the Regulated Market and to solve their problems, they need to choose their leader wisely. The BJP candidate interacted with the workers in the said market and heard their grievance. He assured of fighting for the welfare of the labours working at ground level to the ones running the ‘mandis’ (agricultural markets).
