West Bengal Sherpa Cultural Board takes 260 underprivileged pilgrims to Bodh Gaya

Siliguri, 12th January: The West Bengal Sherpa Cultural Board has taken an initiative to fulfill the dreams of poor and underprivileged pilgrims. 260 people have been taken to Bodh Gaya for a pilgrimage.
On Sunday, they were sent to Bodh Gaya in 4 buses from Matigara Paribahan Nagar.
Bodh Gaya is a religious site and place of pilgrimage in the Gaya district, Bihar. It is famous as it is the place where Gautama Buddha is said to have attained Enlightenment. Since ages, Bodh Gaya has remained the object of pilgrimage and veneration for both Hindus and Buddhists.
Chairman Nima Wangdi Sherpa stated that keeping in mind the financial condition of the poor people, the Bodh Gaya Darshan was arranged for them on behalf of the association. During the upcoming 20-day tour, they will be touring at various tourist attractions including Bodh Gaya.
