WB Panchayat Polls 2023: Calcutta HC directs SEC to deploy Central forces more than 2013’s Panchayat election

The Calcutta High Court (HC), on Wednesday, observed the insufficient deployment of 22 companies of Central paramilitary forces across 22 districts. In light of this, the court directed the West Bengal State Election Commission (WB-SEC) to request additional forces. According to reports, the HC mandated the deployment of a number of force companies equal to or greater than that deployed during the 2013 Panchayat Polls.
