WB Panchayat Election: State Election Commission imposes Section 144

News Desk: After the announcement of the West Bengal (WB) Panchayat Election date, a state of unrest has become apparent, prompting the State Election Commission to impose Section 144.

As per reports, Section 144 will be enforced within a one-kilometre radius of the nomination filing centre for the Panchayat polls. On Sunday, the State Election Commission issued guidelines to all districts in this regard. These guidelines stipulate that only one person can accompany the candidate during the nomination filing process. The specified time frame for adherence to these guidelines is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
