Siliguri, 04th January: The Ward Utsav ‘Naba Anande Jago’ commenced in Ward No. 23 of Siliguri with a vibrant procession on Saturday. The event was inaugurated by Siliguri Mayor Gautam Deb, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, along with Chairman Pratul Chakraborty, Borough Chairman Mili Sinha, Councillor Lakshmi Pal, MMIC Dulal Dutta, Madan Bhattacharya, and other dignitaries.
The procession highlighted several important social awareness messages, including the harmful effects of smoking, the importance of tree plantation, and the life-giving nature of blood donation.
Councilor Lakshmi Pal emphasized that the festival is a result of the collective efforts of the ward residents and aims to bring joy to the community. The festival will continue until January 11.
