Siliguri, 24th July: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) organised a protest march in Siliguri in support of the student movement at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The organisation took out the march from Baghajatin Park on Friday, raising several demands.
The rally started from Baghajatin Park and passed through Court More and Hashmi Chowk before concluding at Airview More.
During the march, participating students raised slogans against Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and demanded his resignation.
The protesters also raised concerns over the central government’s education policies and various issues faced by students. They alleged that the genuine demands and movements of students were being ignored.
SFI Darjeeling district secretary Ankit Dey said that the organisation wants the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. He added that the student movement would continue in the coming days over various demands.
