Siliguri, 26th October: Frequent burglaries in Naya Baazar and Khalpara areas have raised concern among the locals. Iron and aluminium items are regularly being stolen from these areas during the night.
Acting promptly, former councillor Pradeep Goel nabbed a thief in Ward No. 09 on Tuesday early morning. The thief was later handed over to the police.
Reportedly, the former councillor had been keeping an eye on the area since Monday night. He successfully caught a thief red-handed the next morning. Although the youth tried to escape. he was caught from SF Road and handed over to the police.
