Siliguri, 31st December: Ward festival ‘Unmeelan’ commenced with zeal and enthusiasm in Ward No. 33 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation. Mayor Goutam Deb inaugurated the fest by hoisting the national flag and releasing pigeons. The said ward festival will continue till January 15 and various competitions and programs will be organized throughout the 15 days.
Apart from the Mayor, Chairman of Siliguri Municipal Corporation Pratul Chakraborty, Borough No. 03 chairman Milli Sinha, councillors of other wards and mayor-council of various departments were present on the occasion. Beautifully decorated tablo was also included in the grand procession today, which started from the Winners Club ground of Ward No. 33 and circumambulated various areas of the ward and concluded again at the Winners Club ground.
