Violinist spends his lonely days at Rajganj’s Bhramari Devi temple

Rajganj, 30th March: After losing his close ones, Rajganj’s Sudhanshu Das found comfort in melodies. For the last two years, Sudhanshu plays the violin at the gates of the Bhramari Devi temple and lives on the money received from the devotees who visit the temple.

Speaking to our correspondent, Das said that he is a resident of Salsala Bari in the Alipurduar district. He learned to play the violin from his grandfather. After he got married, he had several jobs but never stopped playing the violin. What started as a hobby soon turned into the only means of earning a living for Sudhanshu after he met with a severe accident.

He apparently married off his only daughter with the money he made by playing the violin. After the death of his wife, the violin is his only companion and means of living. Whether in scorching heat or on a rainy day, Sudhanshu plays his sweet melodies at Bhramari Devi temple every day.
