VHP’s silent march stopped by police at Pakurtala More in Siliguri

Siliguri, 24th August: The members of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) undertook a silent rally amidst the 12-hour Siliguri bandh called by the organization on Thursday. However, the rally was stopped by the police.


As per reports, a huge contingent of police from Siliguri Police Station and Bhakti Nagar Police Station stopped the silent march at Pakurtala More due to the unavailability of prior permission to carry out the rally. Following this, the rally leaders and supporters returned. Later, police, RAF, and women police were also deployed in the area. In addition, the VHP members were informed that the rally could not be carried forward.
