Alipurduar, 16th July: Van Mahotsav was organized at the Alipurduar Parade Ground under the initiative of the State Forest Department.
Alipurduar DM Surendra Kumar Mina, Alipurduar District-in-Council President Shila Das Sarkar, Buxa Tiger Reserve Field Director Shubhankar Sengupta and several forest officials were present during the programme.
Reportedly, 40 saplings were planted to beautify the Alipurduar Parade Ground. The initiative has been taken with an aim to stop global warming.
