Siliguri, 28th March: Sensation prevailed after the unusual death of an elderly woman surfaced from the Siliguri SP Mukherjee Road. The deceased has been identified as Anita Das (60).
As per the report, the deceased used to work as a domestic helper at Naresh Agarwal's house in Khalpara for the last 10 years. The house members were apparently not home for the last two days and Anita Das was living by herself.
The matter came to light when Naresh Agarwal’s sister found the main door open this morning. After entering the house, she came across Anita Das lying unconscious on the bed and the belongings of the house were scattered.
Later, Naresh Agarwal stated that gold jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees have been stolen from his house. Ward No. 09 Coordinator Pradeep Goel and the Siliguri Police were informed regarding the incident.
Upon receiving the information, DCP East Joy Tudu along with IC of Siliguri Police Station reached the spot. Police recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
