Siliguri, 03rd April: Acting on a tip-off, the police of Khalpara outpost arrested two youths with firearms from Jhankar More by running a campaign last night. The arrested have been identified as Bikash Ram and Abhishek Kumar. Both are residents of Bihar.
According to police sources, they received a tip concerning the duo being spotted with firearms near Jhankar More. The police took prompt action and nabbed the two youths. Apparently, they had reached Siliguri with the firearms from Bihar and were planning to sell them. Both the accused were produced in the Siliguri court today.
It is to be noted, that the Siliguri Metropolitan Police has launched a special drive against the possession of illegal weapons in the city. Through this initiative, the police have recovered numerous illegal weapons over the past several days.
