Jalpaiguri, 11th March: Two workers were injured in a leopard attack at Aibheel Tea Garden in Meteli Block. The injured workers have been identified as Amit Orao and Nirupa Bag. Among them, Amit is a resident of the Gajoldoba line of Aibheel tea garden and Nirupa is a resident of the Tanis line.
It has been learned that the two were working in section 18 of the garden on Friday morning. At that time, the leopard attacked Amit Orao and then jumped on Nirupa Bag. Shortly after the incident, the leopard re-entered the garden.
The injured were rescued and taken to the hospital. The incident has already been reported to the forest department.
