Two smugglers arrested with snake venom worth crores of rupees in Murliganj of Phanisdewa

Phansidewa, 30th December: Two smugglers have been arrested with snake venom worth crores of rupees in Murliganj of Bidhannagar of Phansidewa. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Kalimuddin and Zubair Khan, both residents of Islampur and Andhra Pradesh respectively. 


According to the Forest Department, the success has been achieved in a joint operation by Ranger Sonam Bhutia of Ghoshpukur Forest Department and the jawans of the 41st Battalion of SSB. Information was received from a tip-off about the snake venom being brought from Bangladesh to Nepal via Malda for smuggling. On the basis of this, the officials of the Forest Department and Wildlife Control Bureau seized a suspicious bike by running a campaign. After this, during the search, about 2 kg 529 grams of snake venom was recovered from a bulletproof glass jar. In this regard, Karshiang’s ADFO Deepen Biswakarma said that today the accused have been presented in the Siliguri court. The investigation of the entire matter has been started. 

It is to be noted that on October 15, a person was arrested by the Forest Department in Ghoshpukur of Murliganj area of Phansidewa with about 2 kg 517 grams of snake venom from a French-made bulletproof glass jar.
