Alipurduar, 24th January: Sensation ensued in the Taleshwarguri Chowpathi area of Alipurduar’s Shamuktala state road after a tragic road accident claimed the lives of two. The deceased have been identified as Madan Sutradhar and Madan Pandit.
Reportedly, a passenger-auto was heading from Shamuktala towards Alipurduar. On the other hand, a bike was coming from the opposite, Shamuktala. Both auto and the said bike from opposite directions faced a head-on collision in the Taleshwarguri Chowpathi area. The crash left the bike riders seriously injured. Both the injured were rushed to Jasodanga Rural Hospital, where doctors declared Madan Sutradhar brought dead, while the other injured, Madan Pandit, died on the way to Alipurduar District Hospital after first aid from Jashodanga Rural Hospital.
Shamuktala police reached the spot as soon as the information about the incident was received. At the same time, the auto driver fled after the accident. Police of Shamuktala police station recovered the auto and bike and seized them. The police have started investigating the entire incident.
