Two brothers dies in a tragic road accident on Siliguri’s Burdwan Road

Siliguri, 28th February: Burdwan Road is no new to tragic accidents as casualties are quite prone in the area. Sensation prevailed on Monday after two brothers lost their lives on their way while returning after celebrating a friend’s birthday. 


 

The deceased have been identified as Rahul Barman and Jayant Barman, both residents of Vivekananda Nagar under Ward No. 42 of Siliguri. Reportedly, on Monday evening, Rahul and Jayant left home to go to Salugara to celebrate their friend’s birthday. After the birthday, they were returning home by bike at around 10:30 when the bike went uncontrolled and collided with the pillar on the under-construction flyover being built at Jhankar More of Burdwan Road. Due to this one of the brothers died on the spot. After this, the local people informed the police of Khalpara Out Post. 


 

Police reached the spot as soon as the news was received. On the other hand, another youth was rescued and taken to Siliguri District Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Meanwhile, today the dead bodies were sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for postmortem. The family members told that they had gone to Salugara to celebrate their friend’s birthday. But the question arose as to how both the brothers reached the Jhankar More. 

 

However, the police of the Khalpara outpost have started investigating the entire matter. It may be noted that the work on the flyover at Jhankar More started in 2018. However, the work on the flyover remains incomplete causing several mishaps and casualties that happen every day.
