Two Bhutanese nationals arrested for attacking shopkeeper with knife in Siliguri

Siliguri, 12th March: Sensation prevailed at a mall located on Sevoke Road when two Bhutanese nationals were arrested for allegedly attacking an ice cream shopkeeper with a knife inside the said mall. Both the accused were produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Sunday. The arrested Bhutanese nationals have been identified as Mahendra Chimoria (38) and Karma Thinley (37), both residents of Thimphu, Bhutan.


 


 

It is to be noted that on Saturday, the two Bhutanese nationals Mahendra Chimoria and Karma Thinley reached a shop to have ice cream inside a mall located on Sevoke Road in Siliguri. After having ice cream, a scuffle arose between the shopkeeper and the two Bhutanese citizens over the bill. However, later the matter was pacified after the intervention of the owner of the ice cream shop. But in no time, the matter quickly escalated when both the Bhutanese nationals were accused of making obscene remarks about the female employees of the mall. During this, it is alleged that the Bhutanese citizen took out a knife from the bag and attacked the ice cream vendor seriously injuring him. 

 

After this, the mall manager caught both the accused and informed the police. The police of Bhakti Nagar police station shortly reached the spot and arrested both Bhutanese citizens. The police have registered a case against both the accused under relevant sections and produced them in the Jalpaiguri court today.
