Two Balurghat families get food items delivered at their door-step through the ‘Didi Ke Bolo’ drive

Siliguri, 25th April: With the help of the ‘Didi Ke Bolo’ drive, two Balurghat families stranded in Siliguri got food items delivered at their doorstep amid the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.
As per the report, the Borough – V Chairman Ranjan Shil Sharma delivered the food items at their doorstep himself.

The two families apparently visited Siliguri, three months ago. After the nation-wide lockdown was imposed, they could not return home and were living in a rented house in Ward No. 36 Niranjan Nagar, Siliguri.

They then desperately sought help through the ‘Didi ke Bolo’ programme. The Ward No. 37 Councilor Ranjan Shil Sharma immediately rushed to their rescue and handed over rations to both the families on Saturday morning.

In this context, Sharma stated that he has been arranging meals for around 500-700 children of Ward No. 36 and 37 ever since the lockdown has been imposed. Apart from that, he also distributes cooked meals among thousands of poor people regularly. He further assured that such initiatives will be taken during the entire lockdown period.
