Siliguri, 17th February: In a significant breakthrough, the New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Police arrested two individuals with brown sugar in Siliguri. The incident led to the arrest of two individuals identified as MD Alam and MD Rafiqul, residents of the Balram and Salbari area.
As per reports, on Friday night, the NJP police launched a tip-off operation in the Bishwa Bangla Shilpi Haat area of Kawakhali and arrested the duo with 100 grams of brown sugar. Following an interrogation, the police learned that the brown sugar was brought from Shiv Mandir to Kawakhali for sale. The estimated market value of the seized brown sugar is about Rs 2 lakh. Meanwhile, the NJP Police have initiated a detailed investigation of the entire incident.
