Two arrested in Siliguri along with gold and over 2 crore cash

Siliguri, 23rd September: Based on a tip-off, the DRI launched operations and arrested two persons along with 5 kgs of gold. A vehicle was also seized in the incident. The arrested accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar Gupta, resident of Bihar, and Harish Chandra Prasad, resident of West Bengal.


Reportedly, the duo was smuggling gold from Myanmar to Kolkata. 4.980 kg of gold worth 2 crores 65 lakhs 92 thousand 702 rupees were recovered from their possession. They were produced before the Siliguri court today and have been taken into jail custody for 14 days.
