Siliguri, 26th August: The Pradhan Nagar police arrested two youths on the charge of stealing money from a donation box kept at a Ganesh Puja pandal in Salbari Bazar. The arrested youths have been identified as Rahul Rana and Biki Lohar.
According to the information, the money was stolen from a donation box kept in the pandal on August 25. Following this, a complaint was lodged at the Pradhan Nagar Police Station. Based on the complaint, the police launched investigations and got hold of the accused.
As per police sources, a mobile phone and 2 thousand rupees cash were recovered from the duo. It has been alleged that around 30-40 thousand rupees were stolen from the donation box. The police are further investigating the matter.
The arrested individuals were produced before the Siliguri court today. The court has ordered two days of police custody to investigate the incident.
