Siliguri, 15th August: Tourism Minister Shankar Ghosh hoisted the national flag at the Tourism Department office located at Mainak Tourist Lodge in Siliguri on the morning of Independence Day.
The celebration was followed by the rendition of the national anthem. The Minister later interacted with department officials and children present at the event and distributed chocolates among them.
On the occasion, Ghosh paid tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence. He also extended his warm Independence Day greetings to the people and wished everyone on the occasion.
