Two arrested for making short film based on Siliguri schoolgirl murder incident

Siliguri, 27th September: The team of Siliguri Cyber Crime police arrested a director and an actor for allegedly making a short film based on the Siliguri schoolgirl murder incident. The arrested accused have been identified as Palash Saha and Hriday Barman, residents of Siliguri.


As per reports, the duo allegedly prepared a short film based on the full story of the recent brutal murder of a minor schoolgirl in Siliguri. Subsequently, Palash and Hriday posted the short film on their social media accounts. Significantly, the video went viral.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased student opposed the short film as it allegedly compromised the identity of the victim. On Tuesday, a formal complaint was filed at the Cyber crime police station of the Siliguri Metropolitan Police. Following this, police initiated an investigation into the case and arrested both the accused under the IT and POCSO Act. On Wednesday, both the accused were presented before the Siliguri Court.
