Siliguri, 25th September: A rare species of turtle was found on the Asian Highway in the Shiv Mandir area adjacent to Siliguri.
According to reports, on Sunday night, a person named Mousumi Barman, a resident of Sarada Pally in Shivmandir, spotted the turtle on the Asian Highway while returning home. Following this, the turtle was rescued.
On Monday, the turtle was handed over to the Bagdogra Forest Range Office.
